About this place
Zha Ji Fan is a rice bowl of fried chicken covered in a thick, eight-treasure-style gravy with Chinese cabbage, bamboo shoots and shimeji mushrooms. Diners have reported that the bamboo shoots and mushrooms had a particularly deep flavour, and that they could have done with more rice. It is a satisfying choice when you want the gravy, chicken and rice together in one dish.
For noodles, options include gomoku soba, or Shijin tangmian, and rou si tangmian, made with meat and pickled mustard greens. One visitor chose the gomoku soba as a lighter option and noted that it arrived in a large bowl. Another diner praised the stir-fried pork with garlic chives, an alternative to a rice bowl or noodle dish.
Small plates such as gyoza, sweet-and-sour pork and shrimp with egg are also available, making it easy to pair dinner with beer, chūhai or a highball. The restaurant is described as suitable for solo diners, and offers both dine-in and takeaway service.
